Beauty: Free your Legs

Springtime usually fills me with a mix of joy and fear.

Sunshine, buttercups and rainbows….joy. The thought of getting my pasty, dry legs out of hibernation….dread.Summer LegsThe most important product that you need in your life, in order to prep your legs for floaty skirt season, is the obvious – moisturiser!

Don’t be fooled into thinking you only need to moisturise after a shower. An essential step in your daily routine is moisturising, and if you apply it with a massaging motion it will get the blood pumping round your body, which in turn will help avoid cellulite and improve skin firmness.

Here are a few products that are sure to make your legs ready for exposure:

PALMER’S Cocoa Butter Formula – £4.29

This is a bit of a cult favourite, at only £4.29 and so thoroughly moisturising you can see why.

It is so thick and rich, it seems to be the only moisturiser that actually keeps my feet soft. It is great for the really dry areas such as feet, elbows and knees. Also it smells like chocolate which is yummy but can be a bit much at times, especially the way I slather it on! The bottle design does make it a challenge to get the moisturiser out.

URBANVEDA Radiance Body Lotion – £10.99

This lotion locks in moisturise to replenish and repair. The collagen-boosting ingredients and antioxidant-rich superfruits work in synergy to enhance all-over skin tone and radiance, and contribute to skin’s barrier function, helping to keep skin youthful, firm and hydrated. It has a light fragrance and is easily absorbed into the skin.

JANJIRA Argan Oil Body Butter – £28

Body butters tend to be packaged in tubs which is great when you want to use every last bit of the product and not waste any. We all know the magical properties of Argan Oil to moisturise skin so it is always welcome in any body lotions. This also contains Shea Butter combined with Jan-Natural Complex and Soybean which protects, nourishes and hydrates the skin. The summery fragrance of Lavender and Eucalyptus Oils also help relieve stress.

LA ROCHE POSAY Lipikar Baume AP+ – £12.50

If your skin is sensitive La Roche Posay is a fantastic face and bodycare brand for you. This scent-free, silky lotion absorbs really well, it is intensely hydrating without being greasy or heavy in texture. This lipid-replenishing balm immediately soothes and breaks the cycle of itching and irritation, it also prevents allergens from penetrating the barrier of the skin, stopping the stinging, scratching, and pulling of tight skin.

SACHAJUAN Body Lotion Spicy Citrus – £24

Sachajuan, known for their incredible haircare products, has a range of six brilliant body care products including three different scented body lotions. I love the spicy citrus for this time of year, it is a really subtle yet sexy summer scent of spicy coriander and jasmine. Not only does it smell great, it also has anti-ageing and anti-irritant properties.

EAU THERMALE AVENE Cold Cream Cleansing Gel – £15

Eau Thermale Avene is another brand dedicated to sensitive skin, and similar to La Roche Posay, each product contains Thermal Spring Water, an ingredient praised by dermatologists. In addition to a good body moisturiser, this ultra rich cleansing gel is also a great way to hydrate dry skin, the rich, creamy texture leaves skin feeling soft and more supple.
