Beauty: Spring Hair Inspiration

Something is going on in the world of celebrity hair and it seems to be contagious…

We are finally entering a bright new season, the weather is getting warmer and brighter (I mean who didn’t see that amazing solar eclipse right?!) Now is the perfect time to freshen up your look and where better to start than your hair. Don’t weigh yourself down with winter tresses, instead opt for the hottest new hair trend and go for the chop!

When going for this drastic cut be sure to speak to a hairdresser who will advise you on what style would suit you, it is important to take into account your face shape and hair type. For example, if your hair is fine and you plan on wearing it straight then don’t get layers put in as this will make the ends even finer. Instead opt for a blunt cut and your hair will look thicker.

As well as Vanessa Hudgens (above) there has been an influx of celebs opting for the shorter spring ‘do over the past month including Kim Kardashian, Sarah Hyland, Sienna Miller and so many more that I can’t include them all in this post. Instead I have selected a range of shorter styles from the LOB (long bob) to the short textured cut, so you can see that there is a style to suit most faces.

Ellie has been known for her thick, luscious blonde hair, but this week she unveiled her new shorter look at the Balmain party. If you aren’t brave enough to go short then this longer, collarbone skimming length is a great in between style. The curled ends create an added bounce.

Jessica chopped off her trademark dark brown locks less than a week ago and, as with most of these celebs, revealed her new blunt texturised bob on her instagram account. She has fairly fine hair so has gone for one length and then added texture for a bit of volume.

It isn’t a secret that her long tresses weren’t always real….and you could tell. Even though her hair is always meticulously styled and usually glossy there were times that actually her hair was looking dry and straggly. This choppy cut looks a lot more high fashion and less ‘TOWIE’ extensions.

OK, so models do have the ability to pull off pretty much any hairstyle but looking at the above comparison I really do prefer Jourdan with the edgier cut. As stunning as she was with long hair, it gave her the ‘girl-next-door’ look whereas she looks far more striking in the right image. The sunkissed ends and a great glossy shine are perfect for the spring/summer.

The gorgeous Lily has been styling out the short ‘do for a while but I absolutely love her style so I had to include her. Here you can again see that with long hair she looks young and pretty but with the shorter hair she looks like a real style icon.

Me

And finally me, OK so I’m not a celeb and by no means a style icon, yet I like to think I started this craze (er keep dreaming there Liv). I have had the same hair for such a long time and hardly ever change it up apart from a brief moment of brunette excitement. So after years and years of long tresses I decided it was time to go for the chop.

I have a young face and my hair was losing any kind of shape, so this cut has not only made my hair so much healthier, I look more mature and hey I am so on trend right now.

Who is your hair style icon?
